I produce a music podcast that features downtempo, triphop, psyambient, and fusion artists from around the world who give me permission to play their tracks. Everyone gets promo on my website and credits at the end of the podcast. My next episode will focus on artists in my own hometown, San Francisco. I have some tracks lined up already but would love to hear from more artists.
If you're from San Francisco and you think your music might be a good fit, contact me...or, if you'd like to be in a future episode and you're not from San Francisco, contact me. Most of the time my episodes are *not* focused on a region or a theme.
Regardless, the music should be yours (not a mix of stuff from labels...though I love that...I just can't legally play it) and you should be able to give me permission to use it in a podcast so that I'm not hunted down later by the RIAA. Better still, have a creative commons license that allows sharing for nonprofit. Also, if you're a label and you want to promote a track from an upcoming release, contact me.
To get an idea of the kind of music I feature in my podcasts, preview some MP3s on my podcast page (www.carynorsworthy.com/podcasts.html) or go through iTunes (type "Expand Your Musical Horizons" in the iTunes store and my series will come up) for the "enhanced podcast" versions. I have regular subscribers around the world, and I'm always looking to promote independent artists who make chilled-out grooves.
thanks
Cary
